Dear Parents,
With outbreak of the coronavirus, Covid-19, dominating the news and creating a lot of concern about public health, we are getting in touch with you to let you know we are doing all we can to ensure the safety of our children.
As announced by the Prime Minister today, schools will not be closing as of yet. We are closely following the guidelines provided by the Public Health England with regards to preventing the spread of the virus in places of education.
These are what we are doing:
- We are actively watching out for possible symptoms of the virus infection among the staff and children. To ensure the wellbeing of our staff, they will be advised to stay home and consult their healthcare provider if there is any suspicion.
- Daily, we discuss with our children the need to wash our hands at all time. We discuss the handwashing techniques: rubbing hands together with soap and washing the front and back of hands long enough to the tune of ABCD…
- We are also emphasising that they avoid touching their eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
- We are also guiding our children on how to cover their mouth while coughing or sneezing
- We are continuously deep cleaning our facility; cleaning all surfaces and toys with sprays that kill viruses.
- We are also talking to the children about germs at a level they understand without causing them any panic.
If you children have cold or cough without the other symptoms of fever and difficulty in breathing, please bring them in to the setting.
During these challenging times, we believe you know what is best for your child and we will support whatever decisions are taken. The children’s safety is our highest priority.
If you are worried about your symptoms or those of a child or colleague, please call NHS 111. Do not go directly to your GP or other healthcare environment.
Thank you for your continued confidence in our services.
